WHAT I DID HERE
Milton Glaser once said that "the computer is to design as the microwave is to cooking." He has never touched a keyboard and so I spent many of my days transcribing his beautiful sketches and descriptions into Photoshop and Illustrator files. Some of my best memories are: staring at the Chrysler Building while waiting for the large format printer to finish, the sound of kids playing in the playground next door, and Milton philosophizing about a book he was reading. Occasionally I would bring in side projects to get his thoughts and he would always eviscerate them down to their essential core in seconds, removing all the decoration I'd carelessly added. It was a special formative time for me.
PROJECT WALKTHROUGH: BROOKLYN BREWERY
One of Milton's longtime clients is Brooklyn Brewery. For them, I designed labels for new beers the company would run for limited time. The identities needed to follow Milton's system, but I was given freedom to explore, push boundaries, and taste test as much as I liked.
